Description:
So there is a spiritual world all around us. It is an eternal battle between good and evil and it influences us, impacts our society, and is directly related to the personal struggles, joys, emotions, and decisions that we experience every day. This spiritual realm will be exposed as our campers experience what may be their very near future and how this cosmic spiritual battle is a part of it.

Speaker:
Kyle Wisdom and his family will be joining us for EXILED fresh off a missions trip to Southeast Asia where they are planning to serve full-time. Kyle worked with Jr. High students for several years on staff at Bethlehem Baptist Church (aka John Piper's church) and has also spent time in India and Asia with YWAM, where he witnessed some very real spiritual activity that you and I will probably never see. He is currently finishing up graduate work at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.

Synopsis:
A near-future America Mainstream Christianity has gained much power in the political world and society at large, primarily due to the successful leadership of Jim Jefferson. He has gained the largest religious following in American history and along with it great political power. His strong positions and "proof-in-the-pudding" work for social justice, environmentalism, and economic integrity have made him a popular character both in and out of religious circles.

Like-minded followers have claimed the distinction of calling themselves "Ethicists" and have shunned the label "Christian" because of its negative connotations (the Crusades, oppressing women, Native American genocide, murdering children at the Salem "witch" Trials, ignorant views on science and origins, etc.).

Ethicists are consistently involved in social efforts on a global, national, and personal scale. These individuals are stereotypically outspoken about their faith and are constantly working to create change in the world. Demonstrations happen daily in nearly every town as Jefferson's followers speak out against groups that are deemed to be intolerant, oppressive, violent, or greedy. "Extreme Fundamentalist" groups are especially targeted as the public opinion is that Fundamentalists demonstrate all these traits as well as preaching an exclusive gospel that claims a literal, historic Jesus described in the Bible to be the only path to God.

Mission:
Lake Ann Camp continues to take a stand for what we believe to be the true gospel of Jesus Christ, his literal life, death, and resurrection. Despite the opposition from the Ethicists and other groups, the camp continues to stand for Christ and to show the love that Jesus exemplified to all those around us. Are you willing to stand with us as we engage the battle referred to in Ephesians 6 that is not against people of flesh and blood, but against rulers of darkness and enemies in the spiritual world!

About EXILED:
EXILED is one of the most unique experiences you will ever have at Lake Ann Camp. It has all the fantastic elements that are synonymous with Lake Ann, but with a whole new sense of excitement and adventure. It is for Junior High only, so be prepared for a wild and crazy weekend full of extreme fun, exceptional food, joyful worship times, and top-notch speakers. EXILED 2007 is an awesome opportunity to not only have one of the most memorable weekends of your life, but also for you to become more aware of the spiritual world around us, the power of prayer, and the excitement that comes with standing for Christ in the face of hostility!
